If you are returning a product for any reason other than service/repair, such as an item damaged in shipment or the wrong item shipped, please download and print the Return Form, and include it with your return shipment to speed processing.

CARVIN WARRANTY SERVICE & REPAIR INFORMATION

Below is information regarding warranty and non-warranty service and repair. All items returned to Carvin for warranty service or any other repair work MUST include a Return Materials Authorization (RMA) form, which can be downloaded to the right. Retain a copy of the RMA form for your records.

Shipping: Ship your item to Carvin "pre-paid" (not COD). COD shipments will not be accepted. Ensure that you pack your item well, preferably in the original shipping carton, and remember to include the RMA form. The customer is responsible for any damage in transit caused by insufficient packaging. Guitars & basses must be shipped in a hardshell case.

Drop-Off: You may also drop off your gear for service at Carvin's San Diego, Hollywood or Santa Ana locations (directions here). Drop-off & pick up hours are 10:00 AM - 5:30 PM Monday through Friday, and 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Saturday (Pacific time). Complete the RMA form and bring it with you when you drop off your gear.

Repair Time: For gear shipped to the factory, repair time is generally about 2 weeks. For gear dropped off at a Carvin store, repair is about 3 weeks. Unusual cases or more extensive servicing, such as guitar refinishing, can take longer.

GUITAR & BASS SERVICE RATES

Cobalt Acoustic Guitar

Set up: $55 Includes inspection, new strings, neck adjustment, action at nut and saddle. Nut replacement: $40. Does not include set up. Saddle replacement: $30. Does not include set up. Fret dress: $125. Includes set up and new strings.

Electric Guitar

Set up: $55. Includes inspection, new strings, neck adjustment, adjust action and intonation. Nut replacement: $40. Does not include set up. Install Floyd Rose locking nut: $60. Includes Floyd locking nut. Does not include set up. Fret dress: $125. Includes set up and new strings. Broken or cracked headstock repairs: $100. Does not include refinish or set up. Finish repairs, minor: $50 or more. Price will vary upon evaluation of finish repair. Refinish: $300-$500. Price will vary depending on model and color.

Electric Bass

Set up: $55. Includes inspection, new strings, neck adjustment, adjust action and intonation. Nut replacement: $40. Does not include set up. Fret dress: $125. Includes set up and new strings. Broken or cracked headstock repairs: $100. Does not include refinish or set up. Finish repairs, minor: $50 or more. Price will vary upon evaluation of finish repair. Refinish: $300-$500. Price will vary depending on model and color.

Electronic repairs -guitars and basses

Jack replacement: $25 includes jack. Pot or switch replacement: $30 pot or switch included. Pickup replacement: $30 per pickup not including pickups.

Other Guitar and Bass Repairs

$50 per hour, plus parts.
